and transparent sonics. Stereophile magazine gave the W-4070 power amplifier a
benchmark review for its sub-$1500 price, calling it “a remarkable achievement
at any price” and awarded it a place in their coveted “Recommended Components”
list. This technology was further refined through painstaking research and
development; “Advanced Renaissance” circuitry is still used today in our MOON
Classic series models. In 1997 Simaudio launched its reference-grade series of
audio products, aptly named the MOON Series. Utilizing many new in-house
developed technologies and building on the immensely successful Celeste products,
the MOON series considered by many to be the pinnacle of what is achievable when
innovation meets technological creativity. Today, the MOON Classic series
continues with an expanded range of models and still receives numerous
international accolades. With the rapidly increasing popularity of
high-performance Home-Theater systems, Simaudio introduced the MOON Titan

sounds good in theory and may appear easy to achieve for some. However, the
truth is that obstacles always exist and must be overcome to meet these
expectations. One of the most common issues is the constant and timely
procurement of high-quality parts. For most manufacturers, components like mains
power transformers, chassis parts, faceplates, volume potentiometers and many
others must be purchased from industrial suppliers. Parts inevitably end up
discontinued, or replaced with “equivalents” and delays are caused for various
reasons ranging from financial to ecological, often leading to a product’s life
cycle being shortened and its market reputation being negatively affected. We
don’t claim to build our own capacitors or our own connectors. However, we are
several steps ahead of the competition in the above dilemma. We manufacture
everything in-house that most competitors have to buy. This includes chassis
parts and PCB assembly. We have our own well-equipped metal shop for machining
which houses both a HAAS 5-Axis and 4-Axis CNC mill, we develop our own software
for both our preamplifier controller sections & CD drives, and we fabricate our
own packaging materials. These assets allow us to have much greater control over
areas of manufacturing that are easily affected by external factors. The result
is more timely delivery and a better cost advantage, the latter which is passed
on to the dealer and ultimately the consumer, making MOON products more
marketable by increasing the value/dollar ratio. At Simaudio, we use numerous

The USB input on the MOON i3.3's optional DAC accepts a digital audio signal of
up to 16-bits/48kHz. This is the native specification of the USB input. However,
if you require a higher sampling rate, there are ways to achieve this with the
i3.3. Rather than including a USB input for sampling rates exceeeding 48kHz, we
opted to provide the best possible power supply, D/A converter and analog stage
in the MOON i3.3 at this price level. Also, keep in mind that USB wasn’t
originally intended for use with hi-resolution audio; there are latency issues
which compromise sound quality (i.e. jitter and phase errors, etc.). These could
be minimized through dedicated costly circuitry, but this would significantly
drive up the cost of the i3.3 without improving the sonic performance on any of
the other inputs. If you intend to use the MOON i3.3’s USB input, it’s very
likely that your computer is a data source for music. Today most computers with
a built-in sound card will have either an S/PDIF (RCA connector) or Toslink (optical
connector) digital audio output, thus eliminating the need for a USB input on
the i3.3. Furthermore, if you’re committed to getting the most out of the music
stored on your computer, then in all likelihood you have installed an
after-market soundcard in your computer. Virtually all of these soundcards have
at least one S/PDIF, Optical or AES/EBU (XLR connector) digital output. At this
point, USB connectivity becomes irrelevant. The USB input is there for
convenience as opposed to performance. In the event that you wish to use your
computer’s USB connection with files greater than 48kHz, there are several
relatively inexpensive after-market products; compact one-box USB-to-S/PDIF
interfaces that will work with USB datastreams up to 24-bit, all the way up to
192kHz.

The
MOON 750D Digital-to-Analog Converter / CD Transport features the most advanced
digital technology; The first true 32-bit fully asynchronous digital audio
playback system to reach the marketplace. Intended to fulfill the demands of the
most discerning music connoisseur, the 750D is a fully balanced design featuring
our new M-AJiC32 circuitry (an asynchronous jitter elimination system) built
around the ESS SABRE32 Reference Audio DAC. The conversion process uses 8 DAC’s
per channel working in 32-bit Hyperstream™. The final result is previously
unattainable musical reproduction from digital media, be it a CD, computer,
music server, etc. In addition, the MOON 750D is extremely flexible and

Available
in configurations from 2 to 7 channels, the MOON MC-8 was designed with one
overwhelming goal in mind: uncompromising reproduction of both the massive
dynamics and awe inspiring sonics that accompany today's uncompressed
multi-channel audio recordings (Blu-Ray). To accomplish this feat and the
numerous engineering challenges that go with it, a whole new approach to the
design of multi-channel amplification was required. Relying on many
technologies found in our highly-acclaimed Evolution Series power amplifiers,
numerous physical and electrical constraints had to be overcome to create a
multi-channel amplifier where all 7 channels would be capable of identically
staggering performance. The result is the MC-8 which can produce a maximum
continuous power output of 250 watts per channel into 8 ohms, 500 watts per
channel into 4 ohms and 1000 watts per channel into 2 ohms, generating a
mind-numbing ultra-high-current output signal of 280 amperes spread across 7
channels. The MC-8 is leaps beyond anything else available, even our own MOON
Titan. A quick listen will reveal a level of sound purity, sheer power and
limitless dynamics that no other multi-channel power amplifier has ever been
able to attain, let alone hint at. The MOON MC-8 is a genuine masterpiece, a
technological tour-de-force, and a colossal achievement that has no
